OK so WTF??

I just got a new computer and had XP installed. So I hook it up at home and the internet just won't work on it. My connection still works fine on my old computer right next to it. So we phone shaw today and they go step by step trying to solve the problem to no avail, so they say get the machine checked. I went to the guy that installed windows and he hooked up my machine at his place using the same shaw cable connection I use at home and everything is fine, internet etc all works great. I try at home again and it doesn't work (Still just get "cannot find server" screen in Explorer) but again still works fine on my old machine. WTF is going on??? :-\

Did all that many times, with Shaw telling me exactly what to do. :-\

I've gone through this shit many times, only with Shaw though, never had any probs with Telus ;D

Did you try unplugging your modems power cord for 30 sec then plugging back in (with computer shut off)?

Did you make sure your PCI card or whatever is working? Check to make sure in device manager.

I think its odd shaw doesn't know whats up ??? Maybe its your modem...who knows :-\ Try Shaw again if nothing works again...
