what tranny came with the 2.3 mustang? Cause I'm wanting to put that one on the ranger so I'm wondering what the difference is. I know the ranger one is made by mazda.
I'm guessing I'll have to replace the tranny mount and get a new driveshaft. Altho I was gunna put a better axle in anyways.

Automatic or manual?
Manual is a T-5, but its fairly weak and has a steep first gear.
I guess if your using it behind a 2.8 or 2.9 it should hold up..
The automatic was some god forsaken peice of shit that you should never ever use...

Ranger is hydraulic / Mustang is cable.
May cause some extra problems.

why would I do that? I own a ranger 2.3NA with the 5spd. My truck runs as stock piece of crap. The trannies used in the rangers had the mazda trans. I want to build a 2.3T ranger but I want to use the mustang tranny cause of the wider gears. She's gunna be a street truck... no need for haulin anything but groceries.

What Twistin Said, Hydraulic Has Different Pedal Assembly & I "Think" The Shifter Location Is Different As well.
It's Polly More Hassell Than It's Worth.
