Does anyone think that it would be possible to make your own SVO using a powerstroke turbo and custom pipe? I am not too sure it the block is the same out of a regular 4cyl as compared to an SVO. Let me know what you think.

the shortblocks are differentbetween a normal 4 banger and an svo, but i think an svo and a supercoupe might be the same?

the blocks arnt the same, supercoupe`s are 6 cylinders and svo`s are 4. maybe you`re thinking of a turbocoupe ??? i`m pretty sure those were 4 bangers.

buy my svo and get a t3/t4 hybrid turbo off turboford.org
you're thinking too big with a turbo from a powerstroke, that would take till 3rd gear to spool up with the little engine. lol
actually, the svo for sale thread just may dissapear, and i may have another stang lol

Yea I guess the powerstroke would be a little large ::), but I will check out that t3/t4.... Oh yea, what is it that needs to be done to your car as far as drive train envy? Black83 was telling me it just needs a turbo re build?

Yea, a gn motor would be sweet, but its too much hassle to swap drive trains when there is a regal 3.8 t-type for $3000 in there right now. It would be a sweet ass car tho.. ;D

hahahaahahha.. yea, I might just do that too. There is one at Mazda that I saw today after work that is lookin mighty fine.. a little steep tho. $500, but it does have cruise control ;D. It would be great if I painted it the same too.......hahahaha.. good call daws.. I get a stang in the spring or summer.

no, it needs the turbo rebuilt as well as the engine either to be paid for and finished by the place that has it, or pay for what is done (machining, new pistons, etc) and pick it up and finish it yourself. or just buy a used turbo 2.3 from somewhere and drop 'er in. i'd ahvce to be mental to sell an svo that only needed a turbo rebuild for that cheap. lol

haha... my thoughts exactly. How many psi were you running on the turbo when it blew?

With the stock motor, an 86 can run 15 psi safely. anything higher then that and shit starts to hit the fan.

Hahahha.. that was some funny shit. Yea, I am leaning towards another Taurus for a winter beater, but what should I buy.. The 3L was good but the tranny sucked and the 3.8L was shit but the tranny rocked... Damn if that isn't a pain in the ass.

stock it ran 14psi, they can safely handle 18psi, however, even 1 more psi without the fuel/spark to go with it and boom, you're gone, just like i was.
ford turbo 2.3's are basically 1psi = 10hp, so being that the car had i think 190 stock, im tired and dont wanna think or look, bump that up 50, so somewhere between 230 and 250 just with the turn of a knob, i was also running an ultra high flow cat, K&N cone, and full 3" exhaust....if only i hadn't of leaned out :(
