Ok i tryed doing this the other day but didnt want to get to invovled because it seems I have to take my entire center colsol out as well as part of the dash just to get at the front bolts of that plate on top of the shifter.

any suggestions that will make this easier?

all you have to do is take the piece off that is around the shifter. the bolts that hold the piece to the floor are 8mm. took me about an hour to do a tri-ax shifter, but the guy my gfbought the car from had custom made a stainless steel shifter bezel and had some weird bolt setup that was a bitch to get back together.

yeah i couldnt get 1 in, so i just said fuck it. something you can do is just cut a bit out of the metal so you can get an extended socket in there.
