Is there a LEGAL way of transferring the insurance from my 98 gt to my 99 cobra for a couple days without going to ICBC as i say it's just for a day maybe 2 as i want to run it around and try to sell it and i am too cheap to put a permit on it. both my mustangs are black the only difference is one is a vert the other is a hard top

Put a permit on it. The 30 bucks is 10x better than what could end up costing tons

Yeah i own both and they are both in my name i just wanted take it to the napa show this weekend but i didn't really want to put a permit on it for it to go from my driveway and then sit in a parking lot most of the day but i hear it's going to rain this sunday so i'll just leave it under the tarp and renew my posts on CL and kijiji for the cobra. Thanks for the insight

Done this many times myself.
1. Fill out a transfer form as though you have sold gt to your (mum,dad,bro,sista...)
2. Move plates to cobra and keep a copy of transfer form with you in cobra.
3. You have 7 days to complete the transfer of insurance and plates to the cobra.
4. Meanwhile, drive around for 3 or 4 days.
5. Before 7 days are up, tear up all transfer docs. and move plates back to GT.

You can check with any autoplan agent and they will tell you this is legit.

smart mother fucker you are.....

yea, you are allowed to use the plates on your vehicle for 7 days ONLY if you have sold you old vehicle, and they are the same catagory (Car to car, truck to truck ect....) that is a very sneaky way to get around it.... but what happens if they find out the vehicle isnt sold yet.... :S

Thats why you pretend to sell it to a friend or someone close so that if anything does happen you got back up.
